Stipe Miocic vs. Francis Ngannou 2 live fight updates, results, highlights from UFC 260

A pair of heavy hitters in MMA’s biggest division will square off once again Saturday night when Stipe Miocic defends his heavyweight title against the sport’s premier knockout artist, Francis Ngannou, at UFC 260 inside the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

The last time Miocic and Ngannou met, Miocic retained his title with a unanimous decision victory at UFC 220. After falling short against Derrick Lewis in his next fight, Ngannou went on a tear of four straight first-round knockout victories over Curtis Blaydes, Cain Velasquez, Junior dos Santos and Jairzinho Rozenstruik to earn another shot at the title.

Since defeating Ngannou, Miocic has only faced Daniel Cormier. Miocic dropped the title to Cormier at UFC 226 but regained it with a fourth-round knockout at UFC 241 in August 2019. The two had a rubber match last August and Miocic came out on top in that as well, a unanimous decision that sent Cormier into retirement.

With an incensed Ngannou coming for his crown, will Miocic be able to keep his head and turn back the challenge, or will there be a new king of the heavyweight division after Saturday?

Stipe Miocic vs. Francis Ngannou 2 live updates, highlights from UFC 260

10:56 p.m.: Miranda Maverick will likely find herself in the rankings at flyweight with a dominant unanimous decision victory over Gillian Robertson. Maverick was simply too powerful, utilized excellent striking and overcame some adversity in the second round to earn the best victory of her career thus far. The sky is the limit for Maverick.

10:26 p.m: Gillian Robertson vs. Miranda Maverick in a women’s flyweight bout is up next. This fight was bumped up to the main card after Alexander Volkanovski was diagnosed with COVID and removed from his featherweight title bout against Brian Ortega.

10:22 p.m.: Well, that’s how you get things started! Jamie Mullarkey obliterated Khama Worthy in just 46 seconds and one perfectly placed left hook. It was beautiful. It was brutal. It’s just what we needed after a sleepy prelim.

10:00 p.m: Welcome to Sporting News’ live coverage of UFC 260. The main card is about to begin. What did you miss on the prelims? Not much. Aside from Alonzo Menifield scoring the fourth Von Flue choke in UFC history in his victory against Fabio Cherant, there wasn’t much to see. Hopefully, things change with the main card.
